Can I download audio books?

You can download audio books onto your home computer. You can then either listen to the books on your computer or transfer the audio file to an MP3 player. Most of the titles are formatted as WMA files, and are not compatible with iPods. However, our vendor has started adding some iPod compatible titles. TOP

Do I need my library card to download an audio book?

Yes. A library card is required in order to access the downloadable audio book and the other databases. Only card holders from libraries purchasing the downloadable product will be able to set up an account. TOP

How long can I keep e-audio books?

The e-audio book file will be good for 21 days after which you can renew it for an additional 21 days. After that, you won’t be able to access the file and will need to remove the file from your computer or MP3 player. However, you can download the same title as many times as you like.TOP

How many e-audio books can I download at one time?

You can have up to ten e-audio books at on your account at any given time. Each e-audio book will “time out” after 21 days. If you finish listening to the book before that, you can’t return it until the 21 days is up.TOP

What should I do if I have trouble downloading or accessing my e-Audio Book?

Make sure that your cookies are enabled and you allow popups for that site. You can also check to see if www.NetLibrary.com is a trusted site for your browser. Beyond that, if you run into any problems, call the Library and we’ll do our best to help you.TOP

Will an e-Audio Book show on my library card account?

No, your audio downloads do not show up on your library card account. You have a separate account with NetLibrary that is only for e-audiobook downloads. All of your e-audiobooks that are currently “checked-out” to you show only on that account. The information is kept on NetLibrary/Recorded Books server and the actual e-book downloads are on your home computer and/or MP3 player. Library employees have no way of accessing your NetLibrary/Recorded Books account information.TOP
