Which video formats do you have in your collection?

We have  DVD collections in Adult, Teen and Children’s and we provide streaming TV and movies through Hoopla, Kanopy, and OverDrive.

How many can I take out at a time?

There is no limit to the number of  DVDs that you can check out at a time.  The streaming services have some limits which may change from time to time.

Can I renew videos?

Yes. DVDs may be checked out and renewed twice if there are no holds.  With Automatic Renewal, DVDs will be renewed automatically as long as there are not holds on it.

Do you have educational videos?

Yes. The educational videos are organized by  Dewey number and may be found interfiled with the books in non-fiction. We also have performances such as concerts, exercise and “how-to’s”.

Do you have TV series on video?

Yes. We have quite a few TV series in DVD format.  TV shows are also available on Hoopla.

What should I do if I lose or damage a video?

Please notify us as soon as possible. We inspect each DVD when it’s returned to us.  If the DVD is irreparably damaged we will ask you to pay for it as well as the costs to cover supplies and handling.

Can I request videos from another library?

Just about every type of item can be requested from another Mid Hudson library. The procedure is identical to placing holds for books and can be done in person, by phone or online.
Go to “Log Into My Record” from the online catalog and follow the instructions. You won’t be able to place a hold if you owe more than $10 in fines, however, you can pay online using a credit card. This will clear your record and allow you to place your hold. If you dispute the charge, please contact the library.
