Fiction is laid out to follow literacy growth from infancy to elementary school:
- Board Books – sturdy cardboard pages, on all topics, for babies and toddlers.
- Picture Books – illustration helps tell the story. Most are written to be shared by an adult with a child.
- Beginning Readers – for Pre-Kindergarteners through 1st graders beginning their reading journey.
- Easy Readers – for 2nd and 3rd grade reading levels; most are chapter books.
- Juvenile Fiction – chapter books for 4th – 6th graders.
Non-fiction titles, including Biographies, are available for all ages. We also offer a Parenting Collection with titles for caregivers themselves, as well as books meant to be shared by and adult with a child.
Teen:
Audience: 7th – 12th grade. Fiction and Graphic Novels/Manga are shelved separately. Non-fiction is interspersed with Adult Non-fiction.
Adult:
Audience: Ages 18+. Adult fiction, Graphic Novels and Large Print are shelved separately. Non-fiction, Biographies, Travel, and E&E (Education and Employment) are all shelved separately.
