TRUSTEES

There are 3 three-year terms, 1 two-year term, and 1 one-year term open on the Library Board of Trustees.

Four of our current Trustees are running for re-election as well as one new candidate. On the ballot will appear Brendan Carr, Lori Cassidy, Lisa Jeanneret, Richard Sweirat, and Roberta Wiener. Candidates run at large.

Brendan Carr

Brendan and his wife have lived in East Fishkill since 1996. Their three children attended Wappingers Central School District schools and graduated from John Jay High School. Brendan recently retired after more than 35 years as a sales executive with companies including Nestlé Foods, News Corporation, and Crane Companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University and completed executive education at Pepperdine University. He is proud to serve his community and looks forward to contributing his experience and perspective to the continued success of the library.

Lori Cassidy

Lori has been an active member of the community practically since she was born. She is a third generation New York state licensed funeral director, owner/operator of McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., and owner/operator of Cassidy Memorials, Inc. Lori has been involved in St. Columba Church, St. Denis – St. Columba – St. Kateri Altar Rosary Society, East Fishkill Historical Society, East Fishkill Rotary Club and has volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician with the East Fishkill Rescue Squad. Lori is married to Peter Cassidy – they have three daughters, two sons-in-law and several grandchildren.

Lisa Jeanneret

Lisa has lived in East Fishkill with her husband for 28 years, where they raised their three children, all of whom attended Wappingers Central School District schools and are graduates of John Jay Senior High School. Originally from Chicago, she earned a degree in Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After nine years in pharmaceutical sales, Lisa pivoted to a career in real estate and has worked as an Associate Real Estate Broker in the Hudson Valley for the past 14 years.

Lisa currently serves on the Communications Committee for the Dutchess County Association of Realtors and has been actively involved in the disability community, including volunteering with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, the Down Syndrome Association of the Hudson Valley, and Topfield Therapeutic Equestrian Center.

A lifelong avid reader and frequent library user, Lisa values the Library as an important educational, cultural, and community resource and looks forward to contributing her professional experience, local perspective, and commitment to the East Fishkill community.

Richard Sweirat

Richard (Ric) Swierat has lived in Hopewell with his wife Catherine since 1983 and raised three children attending schools in Dutchess County. The entire family has been involved with the East Fishkill Community Library for these 40+ years. I just completed ten years as a trustee on the Mid Hudson Library System board. I am the retired CEO of the Arc Westchester and have been involved with teaching and programming for people with developmental disabilities for 50+ years. Currently I am an adjunct professor at Pace University in graduate studies of Public Administration. In addition, I am a volunteer with the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region serving on a number of community committees.
