We do not offer in-person volunteering, but teens needing service hours are welcome to participate in our Virtual Volunteering program. Teens can earn 2 community service hours for each project completed with a maximum of 10 hours per school year. Students complete the work at home, with their own supplies, around their schedules.
To enroll in the program:
Email Cathy Nuding, Assistant Director/Head of Youth Services at Nuding@EFLibrary.org with: Student’s full name, school, grade, reason for needing hours, the number of hours wanted, and the projects you’d like to submit. Teen, not parent, must initiate contact as they are the ones earning the hours!
Project options- you may mix & match, or do multiples of the same- they are worth 2 service hours:
Book review: any title, fiction or non-fiction, that was not read as part of a school curriculum. Use this book review form, or email Nuding@EFLibrary.org for a copy.
Kindness stone: painted, and covered in a waterproof/weatherproof sealant so artwork doesn’t wash away in the rain. Stone must be at least the size of a softball, but the bigger the better to be seen! These are displayed along our entrance walkway.
Poem: any style, uplifting in nature, typed, with either last name or initials written on the back of the work. Illustration is optional, but always welcomed! These are displayed in our Teen Area.
Artwork: any style, any medium, uplifting in nature, unframed, with last name on the back side of the work. These will be displayed in our Teen Area.
