Hold Redelivery, also called Deliver Later, is a new service from OverDrive which gives you finer control over when you can checkout the eBooks and eAudios that you placed on hold.
Here’s how it works:
- When a hold becomes available, you’ll receive a notification and have 3 days to pick up the hold
- You can borrow the title immediately, cancel it, or have it delivered later
- If you want to have the hold delivered later, just pick the earliest possible date to receive the title – you’ll keep your place in line and (very graciously) pass the title to the next person who’s waiting
- After the “deliver later” date, you’ll receive the next available copy
- If you take no action during the hold pickup window, the “deliver after seven days” option will be automatically applied as a one-time courtesy
- If you still take no action the hold will automatically cancel
